Let’s Contribute and Support – Fight against COVID-19
The drive to give something back to the society
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
The COVID-19 pandemic marks an exceptional time in the history that requires the best of humanity to overcome.
The nationwide lockdown in India to check the corona virus pandemic is wreaking chaos on thousands of migrant workers in the country's metro cities, especially New Delhi. This crisis threatens everyone's way of life, particularly difficult for people who are already vulnerable, daily wage workers, needy and their families.
Our Central Government and State Governments have taken many steps to fight this epidemic to support the poor and needy citizens of our country. With lakhs of daily wage workers losing their jobs due to the lockdown and having no means to feed their families, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has set up over 800 hunger relief centres in Delhi to ensure four lakh such people get free lunch and dinner.
While Delhi government initially started providing free lunch and dinner, it has now become massive and requires our unconditional support to ensure lakhs of poor families living in the capital do not go hungry.
Celebrities, Professionals, Corporate houses, Government officials have all come together to stand by the nation. Over 3.5 lakh CRPF personnel made a humble contribution of one day salary (Rs. 33.81 crores) to Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. The Radha Soami Satsang Beas has joined hands with the government to provide relief to the poor by means of preparing and providing 28,000 food packets daily for needy and distributing at various locations in the city.
Currently, ‘Jivitesh Foundation’ along with our volunteers is providing more than 800 Lunch-Packs, 5000 packaged drinking water glasses and about 5000 vegetarian pan cakes at various shelters in coordination with district administration. Further, we target to raise this to 5000 food packets, 10000 packaged drinking water glasses and 5000 vegetarian pan cakes on a daily basis so that none suffers from hunger.
We, along with the government, appeal to individuals and groups to volunteer in contributing & distributing food packets and get associated in this mammoth task.
Most of these daily wage labourers can neither go to work, nor return to their villages. In this time of crisis, your small contribution can make a difference and donate to India's war against COVID-19. Now is our opportunity and duty to contribute a little bit to the nation.
You can call us at [M-9811122422 / M-9810611106] and join us as a volunteer.
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
